Hi, I'm Adam

I'm the owner of APS Driving School and a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), providing professional manual driving lessons throughout Telford and the surrounding areas.
For the past 10 years, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of learners gain confidence behind the wheel, pass their driving test and, more importantly, become safe, confident drivers for life.
In 2026, I made the decision to launch APS Driving School because I wanted to build a driving school that reflected my own values and the way I believe people should be taught to drive.

Why I Started APS Driving School

Throughout my career, I've always believed that learning to drive should be an enjoyable experience.
Every learner is different. Some pick things up quickly, while others simply need a little more time, patience and reassurance. There is no "right" speed to learn—only the speed that's right for you.
APS Driving School was created to provide professional, honest and patient driving tuition, where every lesson is tailored to the individual, helping learners build confidence one step at a time.

My Teaching Philosophy

Passing your driving test is important, but it isn't my only goal.
I want every pupil to leave my lessons feeling confident enough to drive safely and independently, whether that's on busy town roads, country lanes or motorways.
Rather than simply teaching you how to pass a driving test, I'll help you understand why we make certain decisions behind the wheel. That understanding develops safer, more confident drivers long after the test certificate has been handed over.
You'll never be rushed, pressured or made to feel uncomfortable. Mistakes are a normal part of learning, and every lesson is an opportunity to improve.

Preparing You for Test Success

Learning to drive isn't just about controlling the car. It's also about developing the skills, confidence and decision-making needed to consistently drive to the DVSA test standard.

During your lessons, I'll help you understand not only how to drive safely but also how to conduct yourself during the practical driving test. This includes learning how to manage nerves, demonstrate safe decision-making, respond positively if you make a minor mistake, and understand exactly what the examiner is looking for.

Many learners believe they need a "perfect drive" to pass, but that's simply not the case. The driving test is about demonstrating that you can drive safely, confidently and independently.
By the time I recommend you for your practical driving test, my aim is for you to have the knowledge, skills and confidence to give yourself the very best opportunity of passing, while also being fully prepared for a lifetime of safe driving.

My Commitment to Safe Driving

As a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), I have a professional responsibility to ensure that pupils are genuinely ready before recommending them for their practical driving test.
The DVSA expects instructors to act professionally and not encourage or support test attempts when a learner has not yet reached the required standard. Presenting a pupil for test before they are ready can result in an avoidable failure, unnecessary expense, longer waiting times for other learners and may also raise concerns about an instructor's professional judgement and standards.
For that reason, I will always give honest advice about your readiness for test. Sometimes that advice may not be what you were hoping to hear, but it will always be based on your safety, your progress and giving you the very best chance of success.
My priority is never to rush you to test. Instead, I want you to feel confident, capable and fully prepared—not only to pass your driving test but to drive safely and independently for years to come.
